Afro Braves NoReissue

£45.00

An explanation of my edition ‘Afro Braves’ and the British Empires invasion of the Sudan.

Ever since I was a young boy and grew my hair there has been an incredible albeit disturbing fascination in the west about my hair. From my school teacher playing with my hair in class to ghastly ‘Afro wigs’ made for entertainment at parties and gatherings.

This Limited Edition print takes you on a journey about the identity linked with the hair and counters that ‘comedic’ western view on Afro hair that was very much brought about by the dread the British Army felt when invading the Sudan.

Rudyard Kipling named them ‘Fuzzy Wuzzy’ but had to admit they broke the British Square.
